Is the earth flat?

What does the bible say?

Daniel CHAP. IV.
1 Nebuchad-nezzar confesseth Gods Kingdome, 4 maketh relation of his dreames, which the Magitians could not interpret. 8 Daniel heareth the dreame. 19 Hee interpreteth it. 28 The storie of the euent.

Daniel 4
8 ¶ But at the last Daniel came in before me, (whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy Gods) & before him I told the dreame, saying,
9 O Belteshazzar, master of the Magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy Gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dreame that I haue seene, and the interpretation thereof.9
10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed: I saw, and behold, a tree in the middest of the earth, and the height thereof was great.10
11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached vnto heauen, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth.
12 The leaues thereof were faire, and the fruite thereof much, and in it was meate for all: the beasts of the field had shadow vnder it, and the foules of the heauen dwelt in the boughes thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
13 I sawe in the visions of my head vpon my bed, & behold, a watcher and an holy one came downe from heauen.
14 He cryed aloude, and said thus; Hew downe the tree, and cut off his branches; shake off his leaues, and scatter his fruite; let the beasts get away from vnder it, and the foules from his branches.
15 Neuerthelesse leaue the stumpe of his rootes in the earth, euen with a band of yron and brasse, in the tender grasse of the field, and let it be wet with the dew of heauen, and let his portion be with the beastes in the grasse of the earth.
16 Let his heart bee changed from mans, and let a beasts heart be giuen vnto him, and let seuen times passe ouer him.
17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demaund by the word of the Holy ones: to the intent that the liuing may know, that the most High ruleth in the kingdome of men, and giueth it to whomsoeuer hee will, and setteth vp ouer it the basest of men.
18 This dreame, I king Nebuchadnezzar haue seene: Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the Wise men of my kingdome are not able to make knowen vnto mee the interpretation: but thou art able, for the spirit of the holy Gods is in thee.

How could the sight of the tree be to all the ends of the earth [11] if the earth is round like a ball. It couldn't because there would always be a backside of the earth that couldn't see the tree. There would be some point of the earth on that backside that couldn't see the tree for sure.

So the earth must be flat unless the word of God the scripture contains errors. But what does Jesus say about the scripture? Can it contain errors?

John 10
35 If hee called them gods, vnto whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be broken:

Since the scripture cannot be broken the earth has to be flat.

Matthew 4
8 Againe the Deuill taketh him vp into an exceeding high mountaine, and sheweth him all the kingdomes of the world, and the glory of them:

We also see in Matthew 4:8 that it is possible to see, at least for Jesus Christ, all the kingdoms of the earth from some very high mountain on earth. If the earth was a globe then there would be a backside and the earth would be curved in such a way that part of the earth would be hidden from view. It seems then that some kingdom should not be visible from that mountain because of the curvature of the earth. Unless Satan used some vision technique to show him the kingdoms like a magically created drive in theater screen. Another possibility would be if Jesus Christ is capable of seeing around corners.

Revelation 1
7 Behold he commeth with clouds, and euery eye shal see him, and they also which pearced him: and all kinreds of the earth shall waile because of him: euen so. Amen.

How can every eye see him if there is a backside of the earth. I guess he would have to travel in the sky around the earth then once for all to see him.

Isaiah 11
12 And he shall set vp an ensigne for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Iudah, from the foure corners of the earth.

The four corners of the earth also sound like the earth is flat.

I think the best argument is in Daniel 4:11 which proves that the earth is flat. So the earth must be flat. Anyone claiming something else is simply confused. Or wait there is one way that Daniel 4:11 could be refuted.

Daniel 12
But thou, O Daniel, shut vp the wordes, and seale the booke euen to the time of the ende: many shall runne to and fro, and knowledge shall bee increased.

If Daniel is a sealed book still today then maybe we cannot use it to prove that the earth is flat. For example the tree might be supposed to be interpreted spiritually like the olive tree in Romans 11 or the vine in John 15.

(Matthew 24:30 [KJV]) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

If all the tribes of the earth see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven, doesnt that sound like the earth is flat. Unless Jesus would travel in the air around the earth.

So I would say from studying the bible that its possible that the earth is flat.

Antarctica is the border

The main argument I have had against the flat earth is that I believe people can travel by boat or plane across the Bearing Strait. Similarly I believe that they can travel from Australia or New Zealand to America without reaching the border of the flat earth.

This has been my main argument against the flat earth hypothesis.

However it turns out that there is another way that the flat earth can be true. Basically if the border of the flat earth disk is Antarctica.

So basically if you believe in a flat earth that has the north pole almost like at the center of the flat earth and then the border of the flat earth is the south pole, then it is possible to be true.

I think that a good observation that seems to prove, as far as I can see at the moment, that the earth is not flat but rather a sphere is the fact that there is 24 hours sunlight during the summer up north.
