Nuclear weapons

Intro

Nuclear weapons are used as a weapon of fear today. So I have to explain a bit about them.

They do not have any nuclear weapons. A nuclear bomb has never exploded. However they do have dirty bombs so they can spread radiation.

Since they do not have nuclear weapons they use conventional weapons. What we see in Ukraine today is the use of conventional weapons. So the threat of using nuclear bombs is used just to put fear in the masses and basically as a power and psychological warfare tool.

This is important to understand in these days because there is a war between Russiah and Ukraine and this might evolve into a war between Nato and Russia, both of which claim to have nuclear weapons but do not have it.

Nuclear power plants do exist and so does submarines and aircraft carriers that have a nuclear reactor in them that they use as source of energy.

Dirty bombs do exist and they can cause substantial longterm damage by radioactive fallout. So the danger of nuclear radiation does exist I believe.

The different between a dirty bomb and a nuclear bomb is that a nuclear bomb uses a nuclear reaction as the explosive power. It is this that doesnt exist. While a dirty bomb uses conventional explosives and then mixes that with radioactive material like cobolt, plutonium or Uranium. When the dirt bomb explodes it causes radioactive dust to spread which may remain radioactive for decades.

Some of these dirty bombs can be carried on a person. They would then cause fallout once they have exploded making the place less attractive to live in.

They dont have ICBMs either.

Update

They seem to be using some weapon in Gaza that causes an increase of enriched uranium in the environment. This could for example happen from neutron bombs. But I am still not convinced that they have nuclear weapons.
