Intro

(Luke 8:21 [KJV]) And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
(Mark 3:35 [KJV]) For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Notice that the will of God is defined if you compare Mark 3:35 with Luke 8:21. The will of God is that you hear the word of God and do it.

So hear and do it is also. Do can be just to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ or it could be just to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray to God the Father.

(John 6:28-29 [KJV])
[28] Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Work of God is also defined in John 6:28-29, this is the work of God that you believe on him that he has sent.

(I Thessalonians 4:3 [KJV]) For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

We should also abstain from fornication.

(John 3:16 [KJV])
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This definition of salvation does not contradict John 3:16 because prayer is not a work.

(I John 2:17 [KJV]) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
