Its possible that the internet will go down.
Centralized technology depends on the internet today. Like electricity, mobile network, internet, even the water in your toilet. So if internet goes down it can cause a temporary grid down situation.
Anyway, it has been predicted by the world economic forum[1], that there will be a cyber pandemic. That is that the internet will go down due to some virus and that this will affect infrastructure that will stop working because it relies on the internet today. Without working infrastructure we will have crisis and social unrest and lawlessness will come from it. People will beg for people to sort out the problem. Then the solution will come. Some form of cyber version of the covid vaccine. Like that you cannot access the internet except you use your digital id and some special software that you have to install on your computer, allowing big tech to monitor your every move on the internet. Accessing the internet without this approved tools will be seen as that you are a potential terrorist with imprisonment as possible consequences.

10 million people in Australia cannot make a phone call or access the internet[2][3].Cybersecurity incident on Australian ports[4]. Are they testing their cyberpandemic on Australia which was such a special test country during the covid pandemic.
The Houthis might cut the internet cables in the strait, Bab-el-Mandeb, at the mouth of the Red Sea. This would not only affect global internet connections but also global finance[5][6][7].
It seems that the Houthis have now already started to cut the internet cables. They have cut 3 or 4 major international internet cables[8][9][10][11].
