Right eye offend thee, pluck it out

What does this mean?
Should we pluck out our eyes and cut off our arms?
Why is Jesus Christ saying this.
(Matthew 5:29-30 [KJV])
[29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
[30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
He is saying it because of that if you don't come to faith in Jesus Christ in your lifetime then it would have been better for you if you had never been born.
Maybe the act of plucking out your eye will eventually make you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyway just taking the comfortable way and choose to try to stay safe and not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in your lifetime is going to send you to hell.
Believe on the lord Jesus Christ rather than count your sins and wonder if you are going to go to heaven or not. Because you cannot enter heaven by your own righteousness only by the work that Jesus did on the cross.
(I Corinthians 1:18 [KJV]) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
If you don't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in your lifetime then you go to hell.
