Prison epistles theology

Intro

Prison epistles theology I define as a theology that considers the prison epistles to be the true core of Christian faith.

Basically there exist three parts in the Bible.

  1. the Old Testament
  2. the New Testament
  3. the prison epistles

With increasing importance.

Like the layers of an onion.

The Old Testament being the outer layer. The New Testament being the middle layer. The prison epistles being the inner core, like where the seeds are in the apple.

There are either seven prison epistles:

  1. Ephesians
  2. Colosians
  3. Philemon
  4. Philippians
  5. 1 Timothy
  6. 2 Timothy
  7. Titus

Or 4 prison epistles :

  1. Ephesians
  2. Colosians
  3. Philemon
  4. Philippians

So if you look upon the Bible as an apple. The skin of the apple is the Old Testament, what you see from the outside. The New Testament is the flesh of the apple, what you eat and the prison epistles is the core of the apple that contains the seeds that can create new apple trees.

Notice that the skin of the apple contains most nutrients[1].

So the Old Testament contains the teachings of a long life (Moses law). But the New Testament contains the teachings of eternal life in heaven (Jesus Christ).

Comment

Some believe that Christians are fooled by Satan when they look back to Acts 2 rather than forward to the prison epistles[2]

I personally know that casting out unclean spirits work today. So I don't believe that Mark 16 for example is not relevant today (Ephesians 6 though could be seen as talking about casting out unclean spirits). But sure it could be so that charismatics with their healing theology make some Christians get in danger of Satan and his unclean spirits.

Luke 22:31 KJV
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
