Intro

Mobile phones can be used to kill the person having it.

Surveillance

You can be tracked by your mobile phone and located, even with location services turned off using mobile station triangulation. Your cell phone also emits numerous other signals such as low energy Bluetooth signals that can be picked up by receivers nearby. NFC is often active on today's mobile phones and will transmit your identity when you pass near a receiver. This is I think similar to the technology used on clothes to stop thieves that beep when you go out of shops. Really new modern phones also have something called WBAN that locate you more precisely.

Those tracking you don't only find out your current location but also get a map of where you generally are during certain times of day and certain days, like your habits.

Drones

There are killer drones that can home in on your mobile phone signal and explode when it is close to you.

Improvised explosive devices

Also its possible to turn a mobile phone or other electronic connected device into a bomb.

An explosive device consists of 5 parts[1][2]:

  1. Container
  2. Battery
  3. Triggering device
  4. Detonator
  5. Explosive charge

Most electronic devices already contain container, battery and triggering device. So they only have to add detonator and explosive charge.

Lithium deuteride has been used as fuel in nuclear bombs[3]. So the lithium battery would work as additional fuel for the explosion.
