The mark of the beast system could be implemented using a microchip in the hand or the brain. This microchip could then be connected using WiFi, 5G, 4G , radio signals, low energy Bluetooth.

This might also cause a kind of spiritual battle occurring for Christians regarding their contact with the internet, whether they understand it or not.

Maybe if Christians understood that the internet is a foregoer of the mark of the beast system it would be easier for them to decide how to relate to the internet.
