IPD:Catch him in his words

Catch him in his words

This is something that you will see people do, especially in church. Why. I think it is because basically churches today are 501c3[1]. That is they are more like government buildings or public buildings or buildings where politicians meet then they are biblical congregations. Satan is active in the churches. There is no protection from Satan in the churches at all. Though churches can offer some possibility for social interaction between sheep, its a dangerous place.

I have talked about it in Church doctrine.

(Isaiah 29:20-21 [KJV])
[20] For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
[21] That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

The above is what church people do all the time. Basically to get the upper hand as a kind of master suppression technique]. This was not what fellowship in the congregations in the new testament was about. This is what basically politics is about in the secular world and you will notice in the churches that its failed politicians that run the place.

(Mark 12:13-17 [KJV])
[13] And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
[14] And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?
[15] Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
[16] And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar’s.
[17] And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

First we see that Jesus says to them why tempt ye me?. Who is the tempter. Satan is. So basically he is saying that they are doing the works of Satan against him and that is what these people do that try to catch someone in his words. So how do we deal with Satan. We resist him. So if this happens in a church it might be appropriate to leave the church or dis-fellowship the person doing it. The person is basically playing the devils advocate against you.

How to deal with someone that tries to catch you in your words

They who do this have evil intent on a personal level towards you so leave them depart or answer them in a parable making them marvel if you have that gift of Christ in you like Jesus did.
