False prophet doctrine
God doesn't torture people?
God doesn't torture people, does he? Some claim that God doesn't torture people and that you are a wretched catholic if you claim so.
Revelation 14:11
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Well you could claim that God doesn't torture people but he torments souls or spirits or whatever you want to call the surviving part of the human being that has been put in the lake of fire.
These people who end up in the lake of fire they are not meeting total destruction. In some way they remain alive, like their soul or their spirit, in the lake of fire forever and there is smoke going up from their torment forever and ever.
(Amos 3:6 [KJV]) Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Jesus said the wages of sin is death?
Did Jesus say the wages of sin is death?
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus would agree with Paul Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. But Jesus didn't say the wages of sin is eternal damnation in the lake of fire.
(Matthew 7:13-20 [KJV])
[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
The strait gate is to trust in Jesus Christ alone and you have to do that once in your lifetime to get eternally saved.
Whether you are saved or lost sin leads to physical death. If you have been eternally saved you go to heaven when you die. If you have not been eternally saved you go to the lake of fire when you die.
