Jesus Still Speaks: Dreams, Visions, and the Living Voice of Christ Today

A Wave of Testimonies from the Muslim World

There is a growing body of testimonies from former Muslims who are coming to faith in Jesus Christ after experiencing vivid and life-altering dreams and visions. These are not vague spiritual impressions, but deeply personal encounters in which Jesus speaks directly to individuals—sometimes giving detailed instructions about where to go or whom to speak to.

These stories challenge a common idea—especially prevalent among many YouTube-based Christian voices—that Jesus no longer speaks to people today, and that Christians must rely solely on Bible reading and prayer. While Scripture is indeed the final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine, it does not teach that Jesus has gone silent.

"Every ex-Muslim, I would say 50 to 70% of them explained to me, it's always like Jesus or an angel, but nine times out of 10, it's Jesus saying something either very specific, like go to this store, meet this man, talk to him, he will tell you the truth."

This quote from a recent conversation between two believers reflects a trend that is clearly underreported. One speaker even claimed to personally know over 100 Muslim-background believers who have come to Christ, most of them through dreams.

The most common theme? Jesus Christ appearing in dreams—sometimes on the cross, sometimes smiling, sometimes speaking profound truths like "I am the Son of God". These visions contradict Islamic teachings about Jesus being just a prophet. Instead, they reveal His divine identity and call individuals to follow Him.

The Pattern Seen in Scripture

This phenomenon strongly echoes the New Testament Church, where Jesus and angels frequently communicated with believers in direct and specific ways:

  • In Acts 9:10–12, the Lord appears to Ananias in a vision and gives him precise instructions.
  • In Acts 10:3–6, an angel tells Cornelius to send for Peter to hear the gospel.
  • In Acts 16:9–10, Paul sees a man in Macedonia in a vision, calling for help.
  • In Acts 18:9, Jesus speaks to Paul at night: "Be not afraid, but speak."

These examples are not confined to the apostolic age. They occurred after Christ's ascension, in the age of grace—the same time period we live in today.

Job and the Testimony of Dreams

Even the Old Testament affirms that God uses dreams to communicate. Job 33:14–18 declares:

"For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword."

This mirrors what is happening today in the lives of those who have never read a Bible, yet are being called by Jesus through dreams. Often, these dreams become the very means by which He draws them out of danger—spiritually or even physically—and leads them to salvation.

Conclusion: A Living Savior Still Speaks

To claim that Jesus no longer speaks today is not only unscriptural but also denies the living, active nature of God. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His voice is not bound by time, technology, or the printed page. While all spiritual experiences must be tested by Scripture (1 John 4:1), the biblical pattern of dreams, visions, and direct communication is both historically and currently affirmed.

Jesus still speaks. And He speaks today.
