Capitalization of truth

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Intro

Truth is capitalized sometimes in the original AV1611 but not in the AV1769.

(John 8:32 AV1769)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(John 8:32 AV1611)
And ye shall know the Trueth, and the Trueth shall make you free.

Why is this important. Well the truth is actually a person and a persons name is capitalized.

(John 14:6 AV1611)
Iesus saith vnto him, I am the Way, the Trueth, and the Life: no man commeth vnto the Father but by mee.

Jesus is the truth so he is the person that is named Trueth.

Note though that the original greek text was written in all capital letters. So this is not something that goes back to the original texts[1].
