The Silence of the Fields

The Culling

At first, it was just one farm. A single PCR test on a chicken in Iowa, and then the culling began. Tens of thousands slaughtered overnight. Then more farms followed. The media told the public it was H5N1 — the bird flu — and that it could jump to humans. "This is necessary," they said. "It’s for your safety."

But Mark knew better. A forty-nine-year-old former software engineer turned farmer, he had moved to rural Missouri after being saved. Now, a KJV-believing Christian, Mark had been watching the patterns since COVID-19. He saw the lies, the redefinitions, the theater. This culling wasn't about public health — it was a weapon.

He stood by the fence of his smallholding, watching the sky darken as state agents in hazmat suits passed by on the neighboring property. The smell of burning hens lingered on the wind. "They’re collapsing the food system," Mark muttered. "And they’ll blame us for it."

The Programming

For a year, the news cycled endless warnings: bird flu outbreaks, zoonotic threats, potential for human-to-human transmission. Grocery shelves emptied. Meat became a luxury item. The average American could no longer afford it. Small farms shuttered. Corporate meat labs stepped in with synthetic substitutes.

At the same time, whispers grew in the alternative spaces: gain-of-function research, unpublished data, international cooperation between bio labs and governments. Mark found documents. He watched talks. He read between the lines. They were prepping the world for a new contagion — one that they would unleash and call a mutation.

The bio-weapon wasn’t just about death. It was about control.

The Release

It began in Oregon.

Hospitals overflowed. People collapsed in streets. No warning, just chaos. The virus, dubbed HXN-25, spread silently but killed quickly. The authorities didn’t scramble — they enacted pre-scripted plans. Quarantine zones. Rationing. Social media shut down dissent. Any questioning of the narrative — especially from those who had opposed the culling — was labeled "hate speech."

Mark saw it unfold and whispered Psalm 91 in the candlelight. "Because thou hast made the LORD... thy habitation... there shall no evil befall thee..." But outside, evil was rising.

The Blame

The first arrests shocked even hardened preppers. Homesteaders, bloggers, anyone who had spoken against the culling of livestock — now labeled "instigators of viral spread," "anti-science insurgents," or worse, domestic terrorists.

State-run news ran specials titled "The Cost of Ignorance: How Misinformation Killed Millions." The WHO and the UN doubled down: "This could have been prevented if not for the resistance to science."

Mark watched a livestream of a pastor in Georgia being dragged from his pulpit by masked agents. His crime? Quoting Scripture and calling for repentance.

The Tribulation

By the third year, America no longer looked like a republic. Food was digital. Travel was conditional. Dissent was deadly.

Mark and a remnant lived in hiding, off-grid, surviving on preserved food and rainwater. The virus still roamed — or so they were told. No one could verify anything anymore. Drones circled. Smart meters betrayed locations. Satellites mapped every square inch.

And the worst wasn’t over.

In a dream, Mark saw a scroll being opened. People wept, begged, and clawed the ground. He awoke sweating, heart pounding. Revelation 6 echoed in his mind: "And when he had opened the second seal... there went out another horse that was red..."

His Bible was worn, pages smudged. But the truth in it burned bright. The world was entering the great tribulation. The worst time in human history had begun.

And Jesus hadn’t returned yet.
