The False Dichotomy Between Power and Humility in Christianity

In discussions about Christianity, many people perceive a conflict between power and humility. The world often divides believers into two categories: those who wield power and influence and those who display humility and submission. However, this is a false dichotomy, as the true distinction lies not in these external traits but in whether a person is born again.

The Secular Misunderstanding

Secular individuals often admire power, associating it with success, influence, and authority. At the same time, they recognize humility as a quality attributed to Christians, often equating it with weakness or passivity. This creates a worldly framework in which believers are either seen as powerful leaders or humble servants, as if these are the only two options. However, this framework entirely misses the reality of what it means to be born again.

The Third Way: Being Born Again

The born-again believer does not fit into the power-versus-humility paradigm. Instead, they have something entirely different—an inner, direct connection to God the Father through the Holy Ghost. This is not an external display but a spiritual reality, invisible to the world. When someone is born again, they receive a spirit-to-spirit link with God, allowing them to communicate directly with Him in a way that the natural man cannot understand (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Humility Toward God and the Status of Sonship

Many assume that humility before God is the key to receiving salvation, but in reality, humility toward God does not lead to anything unless one is saved. A lost person can humble themselves all they want, but without the new birth, they remain outside of a relationship with God.

Once a person is born again, they do not need to continuously humble themselves before God in a servile way. They are now His child, and He loves them as a Father (Galatians 4:6). A son does not need to prove his humility to his Father; he already belongs in the family. The world does not recognize this status of sonship, as they only think in terms of external power and external humility.

The Unseen Reality of the Believer

Because the born-again believer walks in a direct relationship with God, they do not operate by the world’s categories. Their power is not about control or influence, and their humility is not about weakness. Instead, they live in constant communication with the Father, guided by the Holy Ghost, a reality that is invisible to the unsaved.

The world argues over whether a Christian should be powerful or humble, but the true believer transcends this debate. They live in a third category—the hidden, inner reality of being God's child, communicating directly with Him.. This is something the world cannot grasp because it is spiritual in nature, accessible only to those who have been born again.
