The Betrayal of a KJV Believer
The Betrayal of a KJV Believer
A Devoted Believer
Matthew was a dedicated King James Version (KJV) believer, holding fast to the Word of God as preserved in the scriptures. He was a member of a local church, attending faithfully, studying the Bible diligently, and always seeking to grow in his faith. His love for truth often put him at odds with the modernized teachings creeping into the congregation, but he remained steadfast, unwilling to compromise.
The church leader, Pastor Gregory, was a man of influence but also a man of deceit. He was well-respected by the congregation, yet behind the pulpit, he was a different man—one who loved power and despised those who challenged his authority. He saw Matthew’s unwavering commitment to the KJV and biblical truth as a threat to his leadership.
The False Accusation
One day, without warning, Matthew found himself accused of a crime he had not committed. The accusations came directly from Pastor Gregory, who, under false pretenses, reported Matthew to the local authorities. The charges were vague but serious enough to warrant an investigation. Whispers spread throughout the congregation, and before Matthew could even defend himself, his reputation was shattered.
Pastor Gregory’s two sons, Caleb and Jonathan, were quick to take their father’s side. Caleb, active on social media, used every platform available to him to spread slander about Matthew. He twisted scripture to justify his attacks, using Psalm 127:5: "Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate." He believed it was his duty to silence his father’s perceived enemy.
Jonathan, involved in another church nearby, also worked behind the scenes, warning other believers to stay away from Matthew. He invoked Exodus 20:12: "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." To him, this meant standing with his father at all costs, even if it meant furthering a lie.
Devoured by the Brethren
As Matthew watched the situation spiral out of control, he turned to the scriptures for guidance. He read 1 Corinthians 6, knowing that taking another professing believer to court was not an option. He was left with only one path—silence and separation.
The words of Galatians 5:15 echoed in his mind: "But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another." The very ones who claimed to be followers of Christ were now united in tearing him down. The church had come together—not for the better, but for the worse.
With no other choice, Matthew withdrew from the local church and abandoned all forms of social media. He saw the truth of 1 Corinthians 11:17: "Ye come together not for the better, but for the worse." The very places that once provided fellowship had now become arenas of betrayal. He realized that a false accuser is best avoided, for they thrive on destruction and deceit.
A Prophet in the Wilderness
Matthew found himself in exile, much like Elijah fleeing from Ahab and Jezebel. But God had a plan. Out of the ashes of false accusations, Matthew’s faith grew stronger. As he studied the Word, he saw more clearly than ever before. The churches, overrun with compromise, had become dens of corruption. The great falling away had begun.
As he withdrew from man’s systems, God raised him up as a prophet. No longer bound by institutions or platforms, he preached the truth wherever the Lord led him. Though many rejected his message, a remnant listened. He warned of the coming tribulation, of the deception that had crept into the church, and of the judgment soon to fall upon the world.
The Great Tribulation
Years passed, and the world grew darker. The warnings Matthew had proclaimed came to pass—governments seized control, economic collapse paved the way for a new world system, and professing Christians turned against each other with increasing ferocity.
Many who had once followed false leaders now realized their mistake, but it was too late. The beast system had risen, and those who would not comply were hunted.
Matthew, now a fugitive in a world ruled by darkness, continued to preach until the very end. As he wandered through the desolate remnants of what was once a free society, he reflected on all that had happened. The betrayal, the false accusations, the division—it had all been foretold.
And yet, even in the midst of tribulation, the Word of God endured. Matthew held tightly to the scriptures, knowing that though the world may fall into chaos, God’s truth would never be broken.
