The Authority of the Babes
The Authority of the Babes
Chapter 1: Revealed Unto Babes
James sat in his small apartment, a well-worn King James Bible open on his lap. The words of Luke 10:19 echoed in his heart: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
James was not a pastor or theologian, but a simple believer, a man of faith who clung tightly to the promises of Scripture. He understood something that many of the "wise and prudent" of the world could not: God had given authority to those who humbly believed. This was not some abstract idea. To James, it was a call to action. The spiritual world was real, and the battle against the powers of darkness was fierce.
Chapter 2: A World Unseen
The news was abuzz with stories of unrest and inexplicable phenomena. People claimed to feel oppressed, plagued by dark forces they couldn’t understand. But James knew the cause. It wasn’t mental illness or hysteria, as the "experts" liked to say. These were the works of unclean spirits, invisible enemies tormenting the vulnerable.
One evening, James received a desperate call from a woman in his church. Her daughter, Anna, had become increasingly erratic, speaking in voices not her own and writhing in anguish. The doctors had no answers, but James didn’t hesitate. With his Bible and the authority given to him by Christ, he went to their home.
Standing before Anna, who glared at him with an unnatural rage, James prayed silently, asking for God’s guidance. He opened his mouth and spoke directly to the unclean spirit: "In the name of Jesus Christ, come out of her!"
Anna shrieked, her body convulsing. Then, just as suddenly, she collapsed into a calm silence. The room felt lighter, the oppressive atmosphere gone. Anna looked up at James, her own eyes now clear, and whispered, "Thank you."
Chapter 3: The Backlash
James knew the risks of casting out spirits in public. Word of Anna’s deliverance spread quickly, and not everyone was pleased. The authorities came knocking, questioning James about his actions. They accused him of practicing unlicensed exorcisms and endangering a minor. James thought of the account in Acts 16, where Paul and Silas were thrown into prison for casting a spirit out of a girl with a familiar spirit.
"You can’t fight spiritual battles with legal reasoning," James told himself as he was taken in for questioning. Though he faced fines and threats, his faith did not waver. He knew that what he did was not for his glory but for the Lord’s. Even if the wise and prudent mocked him, the truth was clear: the spiritual world was real, and the authority of believers was absolute.
Chapter 4: Alone but Not Alone
James continued his mission in secret. He prayed fervently, often alone in his apartment, calling on the Lord to break the chains of those afflicted by darkness. He knew that believers did not need to gather in large numbers to be effective. Jesus had said, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them," but He had also shown that the prayers of one righteous man were powerful enough to move mountains.
It was during one of these quiet moments of prayer, with his Bible open to Matthew 6:6, that James had a revelation:
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
The words struck James like a thunderbolt. He realized that he didn’t need to confront unclean spirits face-to-face. He didn’t need to announce his intentions or risk legal consequences. He could pray in secret, alone with God, and still wield the full authority given to him by Christ.
That night, James knelt in his closet, closed the door, and prayed: "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command all you unclean spirits to go out of Anna now and enter into her no more." Though Anna was miles away, James knew the prayer had worked. He felt a peace and assurance that only the Holy Spirit could give.
Chapter 5: The Radius Prayer
As James meditated on the Scriptures, another idea began to take shape in his mind. The authority given to believers was not limited by physical proximity. Inspired by verses like Luke 10:19 and John 14:12, James realized he could pray for entire areas, casting out unclean spirits not just from individuals but from everything around him.
He crafted what he called the "radius prayer," a powerful petition to cleanse the spiritual atmosphere. Kneeling in his closet, he prayed: "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command all you unclean spirits to go out of each and every animal, human being, insect, object, and creature which is within a radius of 500 meters from me now and enter into them no more."
James could sense the change immediately. The oppressive heaviness that often lingered in his neighborhood lifted. Though the unclean spirits undoubtedly knew what he had done, they were powerless to stop him. James realized that by praying in secret, he was protected from earthly consequences. No one could arrest or charge him for what they didn’t know he was doing.
Chapter 6: The Wise and Prudent
Meanwhile, the world’s leaders, scientists, and philosophers scrambled to address the increasing chaos. Despite their wisdom, they were powerless to resist the darkness spreading over the earth. They dismissed the idea of spiritual warfare, relying on their intellect and technology, but their efforts were futile. Without the authority given by Christ, how could they possibly resist Satan and his forces? They couldn’t.
James often wept for them, praying that their eyes would be opened. But he knew that unless they humbled themselves like babes, the truth would remain hidden from them.
Chapter 7: The Great Tribulation
The world plunged into the Great Tribulation, the worst time in human history. Wars, plagues, and disasters ravaged the earth. The wise and prudent were confounded, their systems and knowledge collapsing under the weight of the chaos. But the babes—those whose names were written in heaven—stood firm.
James found himself in the midst of a small group of believers. Together, they prayed and cast out unclean spirits from those who were tormented. Though they faced persecution and death, they were fearless. They knew that their authority came from the King of Kings, and even death could not separate them from His love.
One day, as James prayed in a hidden room, he heard the cries of the afflicted outside. He stepped into the chaos, speaking the name of Jesus with boldness. The unclean spirits fled before him, and many were set free. Yet James knew his time was short. The forces of darkness were rising, and the Antichrist was tightening his grip on the world.
As James knelt in prayer one final time, he felt a peace that surpassed all understanding. He knew that though the wise and prudent of the world had rejected the truth, the babes—those humble believers who trusted in God—would prevail in the end. For the Lamb of God would return, and every knee would bow before Him.
