Nicolaitan
King James Version (1769) with Strongs Numbers and Morphology: Revelation of John Chapter 2
[1] Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
[2] I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
[3] And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
[4] Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
[5] Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
[6] But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
[7] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
[8] And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
[9] I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
[10] Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
[11] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
[12] And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
[13] I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
[14] But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
[15] So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
[16] Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
[17] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
[18] And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
[19] I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
[20] Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
[21] And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
[22] Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
[23] And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
[24] But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
[25] But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
[26] And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
[27] And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
[28] And I will give him the morning star.
[29] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Who are these Nicolaitans talked about regarding the church at Ephesus (Rev 2:6) and Pergamus (Rev 2:15).
Some believe that the Nicolaitans were into fornication, others believe that these were antimonian[1][2].
It’s possible that the Nicolaitans rather were persons who subdued and conquered the people based on the Greek etymology of nikolaos.
It comes from the greek words Nikos and Laos.
The name “Nicolaitans” is derived from the Greek word nikolaos, a compound of the words nikos and laos. The word nikos is the Greek word that means to conquer or to subdue. The word laos is the Greek word for the people.[3]
Jesus hates those who have the doctrine of the Nicolaitans it says in Revelation. This could rather than being related to lasciviousness and fornication be related to that Jesus hates those who put a burden on people. As talked about in Jeremiah 23.
This also fits with other scriptures from Jesus:
(Matthew 10:24 [KJV]) The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
(Matthew 20:25-28 [KJV])
[25] But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
[26] But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
[27] And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
[28] Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
and from David:
(Psalms 72:4 [KJV]) He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
and from Salomon;
(Proverbs 3:31 [KJV])
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
So the Nicolaitans could be similar to the clergy today. A group of people who put themselves above the people and conquered and subdue the people.
They put burdens on people. This is also talked about in the old testament in Jeremiah 23, the pastors that put burdens on people and talked about the burden of the Lord.
This could also be related to the pharisees in Matthew 23 that Jesus makes seven woes against.
Matthew 23
[4] For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
These are warrior type people that try to curse the general public through fellowship or find things to extort them of. They would interpret Jesus comment:
Mt 4:19
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
As that they fish people like find out their sins and then try to enslave them. So these people might claim that you should confess your sins to them and then they will try to either use you for personal gain or try to destroy you or whatever. Either way, they save no one, bring no one to Christ but rather they use and abuse people.
This could be the real definition of the Nicolaitans.
But church people will use another definition of the Nicolaitans. They will claim that the Nicolaitans where fornicators. The reason church people will redefine Nicolaitans is because otherwise it would implicate themselves as being the Nicolaitans. Because nowadays catholic lite is in your local church. Those that murdered and taxed and enslaved, the workers of iniquity, that existed in the catholic church during the dark ages, these have now moved into the christian denominational churches. Yes the christian denominational churches are catholic lite and you should stay away from them. Eventually or maybe even now they have already turned into mystery babylon, the mother of all harlots.
Jesus seems to say in Matthew 23 that the scribes and the pharisees are going to hell. They are going to hell because they wouldn’t believe on him. But why wouldn’t they believe on him. Because they wanted to rule the people and since they were into conquering and subduing the people they didn’t want to come to the light.
John 3:19-21 KJV
[19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Some will use Jude to define the Nicolaitans but I believe Jude is talking about another group of people. More correct might be to use Jeremiah 23 and Matthew 23 to define the Nicolaitans. That also fits with the greek definition of Nicolaitans from nikos and laos.
Some would say that it would be good to say to a Nicolaitans:
-- Go sling your hook elsewhere
Basically because they seek to put you into bondage, like the false brethren in Galatians 2.
A better way to deal with these people are according to the advice from Jesus Christ:
Mt 23:3
All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Or just if possible depart from them.
Psalm 34
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Don’t even be subject to them for an hour.
Galatians 2:4-5 KJV
[4] And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
[5] To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
People that are into church are forced to be loyal and friends with the clergy so they will teach a different version of who the Nicolaitans are.
Fornication is not a sin that sends anyone to hell, neither before nor after salvation. A saved believer in the lord Jesus Christ is washed by the blood of Christ and sealed by the Holy Ghost until the day of redemption. Only not believing in the Lord Jesus Christ sends people to hell.
Thanks to Gail Riplinger[4] who was the first person who explained to me the Greek etymology of Nicolaitans in her videos on youtube.
Darwinism
Notice also that nikolaos (those who conquer and or subdue the people) fits with Darwinism. Jesus hates the Darwinists.
Notice also that the globalists are darwinists. So Jesus hates them.
How a Darwinist thinks:
(Jeremiah 11:19 [KJV]) But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
The wicked husbandman
The parable of the wicked husbandman fits with nikolaos. In that parable the husbandmen are the once living by the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.
(Luke 20:9-18 [KJV])
[9] Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
[10] And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
[11] And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
[12] And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
[13] Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
[14] But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
[15] So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
[16] He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
[17] And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
[18] Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Ted describes the mindset of the wicked husbandmen in chapter 125 and chapter 135 of his manifesto. Unfortunately that is what we are facing from Satan in the world, the prince of the power of the air (Eph 2:2). But we can resist Satan and put on the whole armor of God.
The parable of the wicked husbandman is in Matthew 21:33–46, Mark 12:1–12, Luke 20:9–19.
2tim3
It’s possible that the Nicolaitans could be explained as Jannes and Jambres brethren. Because they are perilous and are like those who creep into houses to take captive women laden with sins. This because to conquer and subdue the people is similar to 2tim3.
In that case the best way to deal with these people is to turn away from them and flee from them and to have them in a congregation is obviously dangerous and Jesus would be against it.
Yoke
You are tempting God when you put a burden on others.
Acts 15:10-11 KJV
[10] Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
[11] But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
Jesus burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I believe that is why Jesus hates the Nicolatians.
