The Last Evangelist
The Last Evangelist
Prologue
The streets were quiet, the world bustling as usual, but Daniel Hart, a seasoned evangelist, felt a peculiar stillness in his spirit. It wasn't weariness, nor was it despair—those feelings had long been replaced by something he could only describe as divine certainty. He stood in the town square, Bible in hand, watching the crowd pass by.
There was no rejection, no ridicule. In fact, no one stopped at all. For the first time in decades, Daniel felt a strange absence. It wasn’t that people hated the message; it was as if the lost were no longer there to hear it.
Chapter 1: A Change in the Air
Weeks turned into months, and Daniel began to notice a pattern. The streets were filled with people, but none seemed burdened by conviction. Those who once sought hope in the Gospel had either found it or turned so completely away that his words no longer reached them.
At church, he shared his observations with his fellow believers. Sarah, a devoted sister in Christ, nodded thoughtfully.
“I’ve felt it too,” she said. “It’s as if the Lord has gathered all His sheep. Those who belong to Him are here, and the rest... they’re beyond reach.”
Another elder, Brother Isaac, added, “It’s the fullness of the Gentiles, Daniel. Romans 11:25. The time has come.”
Daniel opened his Bible that evening and read the verse again: "Blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in."
For years, he’d preached the urgency of salvation, but now he wondered: was his mission truly complete?
Chapter 2: Joy Among the Saved
In the following weeks, Daniel noticed a shift in the church. The believers began to spend more time with one another, their fellowship deepening. They gathered in homes, prayed together, shared meals, and studied Scripture with a newfound intensity.
The absence of evangelistic outreach didn’t diminish their joy. In fact, it seemed to amplify it. The sermons were filled with hope and celebration, and the Gospel was proclaimed not to the lost but to remind the saved of the riches they now shared.
Daniel was welcomed among them, and though his days of street preaching were over, his role transformed. Now, he was a shepherd to the flock, strengthening those already in the fold.
Chapter 3: The Tight-Knit Remnant
The world outside grew increasingly indifferent, but the believers became a tightly knit community. They looked after one another, shared resources, and supported those who faced hardships.
One evening, Daniel attended a small gathering in a home filled with worshippers. The sound of hymns filled the air, and the believers’ faces glowed with a peace that seemed untouched by the chaos of the world.
During a lull in the singing, a young man asked, “Brother Daniel, do you miss the streets? Preaching to the lost?”
Daniel thought for a moment, then smiled. “I do miss it, but not as much as I rejoice in seeing the harvest completed. God’s work in us isn’t done, even if the fields have been gathered.”
Chapter 4: Signs of the End
As the believers grew closer, the world outside began to shift ominously. News broke of a new global order, an AI system called Logos that promised to unite humanity under one banner of peace and progress.
The church elders recognized the warnings in Scripture. They read from Matthew 24:15: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place..."
The believers prepared themselves, not with fear, but with steadfast faith. They knew the time of the Great Tribulation was drawing near.
Chapter 5: The Abomination of Desolation
Word spread quickly: Logos had established its central hub in Jerusalem, within the newly rebuilt temple. The leaders of the world praised it as the pinnacle of human achievement, but the believers saw it for what it was—a fulfillment of prophecy.
Daniel stood before the congregation one final time. “Brothers and sisters, the time of the evangelist has passed, but our mission remains. Stand firm in your faith. Encourage one another. The worst is yet to come, but so is our redemption.”
Chapter 6: The Worst Time in History
The days grew darker. The system of Logos required every person to bear a digital mark to buy, sell, or participate in society. Many believers went into hiding, relying on their close bonds to survive. The church, once visible and vibrant, became a scattered but faithful remnant.
Daniel continued to minister to the flock, even as the world descended into chaos. Wars erupted, natural disasters tore through cities, and famine spread. Yet, amid the turmoil, the believers clung to the promise of Christ’s return.
Epilogue
One night, Daniel stood on a hill overlooking the city. The sky was dark, the stars hidden by the smoke of burning buildings. He prayed silently as the winds howled around him. He knew the Great Tribulation had begun—the worst time in human history, as foretold in Matthew 24:21: "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
But even in the darkness, Daniel’s faith remained unshaken. He knew that beyond the storm, beyond the suffering, lay the promise of a new heaven and a new earth.
As the first rays of dawn broke through the clouds, he whispered, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus.”
