Unclean spirits
Intro
(Revelation of John 5:11 [KJV]) And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
We can see that there are at least 10000 times 10000 angels in heaven in Rev 5:11. 10 thousands times 10 thousands is a hundred million. So there are at least a hundred million angels in heaven in Rev 5.
Satan was allowed to visit heaven in Job:
(Job 1:6-7 [KJV])
[6] Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
[7] And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
So Satan had not been thrown down to earth by then. It seems Jesus saw Satan fall from heaven. He talks about it in Luke 10.
(Luke 10:18-20 [KJV])
[18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
[19] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
[20] Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Possibly the fall of Satan occured while Jesus was on earth. That would explain why there is no talk of unclean spirits in the old testament.
This has made me to assume that the banishment of satan from heaven and the casting down of his followers the unclean spirits happened after Job happened and probably during the time period that Jesus was on earth.
How many are the unclean spirits? I dont know. But the angels are very many, at least 100 million. So the unclean spirits are probably many too. One estimate is that a third of the angels rebelled and became the unclean spirits that were thrown down to earth. This is based, as far as I know, on Revelation 12.
(Revelation of John 12:3-7 [KJV])
[3] And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
[4] And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
[5] And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
[6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
[7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
If we assume that a third part of the angels followed satan then that would mean that there are at least 50 million unclean spirits around (one third of 150 million is 100 million).
The unclean spirits can enter any living things except a being that has the Holy Ghost in them. So the unclean spirits cannot enter born again believers. The unclean spirits can enter all unsaved people, all animals and all insects, spiders etc. The unclean spirits have no body so they can only act in this world by controlling other living beings by basically possessing them.
(Luke 11:23-26 [KJV])
[23] He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
[24] When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
[25] And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
[26] Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
When an unclean spirits is cast out of a person it goes to the dry place. You can cast out unclean spirits. As far as I understand unclean spirits are the same thing as devils. The unclean spirits are here on earth today.

1 Enoch 15
The Origin of Unclean Spirits
8"And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling. 9Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from the holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin; they shall be evil spirits on earth, and evil spirits shall they be called. 10As for the spirits of heaven, in heaven shall be their dwelling, but as for the spirits of the earth which were born upon the earth, on the earth shall be their dwelling. 11And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble: they take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst, and cause offences. 12And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them."
1 Enoch 16
16 From the days of the slaughter and destruction and death of the giants, from the souls of whose flesh the spirits, having gone forth, shall destroy without incurring judgement, thus shall they destroy until the day of the consummation, the great judgement in which the age shall be consummated, over the Watchers and the godless, yea, shall be wholly consummated.
2"And now as to the watchers who have sent thee to intercede for them, who had been aforetime in heaven, say to them: 3'You have been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries women and men work much evil on earth.'
4Say to them therefore: 'You have no peace.'"
The unclean spirit seems to have their origin in the diseased giants.
