Summary

Someone who judges with rash judgement is a hypocrite.

Matthew CHAP. VII.
1 Christ ending his Sermon in the Mount, reprooueth rash iudgement, 6 Forbiddeth to cast holy things to dogges, 7 Exhorteth to prayer, 13 To enter in at the strait gate, 15 To beware of false prophets, 21 Not to be hearers, but doers of the word: 24 like houses builded on a rocke, 26 And not on the sand.
1 Iudge not, that ye be not iudged.
2 For with what iudgment ye iudge, yee shall be iudged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you againe.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beame that is in thine owne eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let mee pull out the mote out of thine eye, and beholde, a beame is in thine owne eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beame out of thine owne eye: and then shalt thou see clearely to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye.

Hypocrites

What does God think of hypocrites?

(Job 8:13-14 [KJV])
[13] So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
[14] Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
(Job 13:16 [KJV]) He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
(Job 15:34-35 [KJV])
[34] For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
[35] They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
(Job 17:8 [KJV]) Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
(Job 20:5 [KJV]) That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
(Job 27:8 [KJV]) For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
(Job 34:30 [KJV]) That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
(Job 36:13-14 [KJV])
[13] But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
[14] They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
(Proverbs 11:9 [KJV]) An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
(Isaiah 9:17 [KJV]) Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
(Isaiah 33:14 [KJV]) The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
(Matthew 6:2 [KJV]) Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
(Matthew 15:7-9 [KJV])
[7] Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
[8] This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9] But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
(Matthew 16:3 [KJV]) And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
(Matthew 23:13-15 [KJV])
[13] But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
[14] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
[15] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
(Matthew 23:23-29 [KJV])
[23] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
[24] Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
[25] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
[26] Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
[27] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
[28] Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
[29] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
(Matthew 24:51 [KJV]) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

How to deal with a hypocrite

Don't let a hypocrite reign over you. (Job 34:30)

(Matthew 23:1-7 [KJV])
[1] Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
[2] Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
[3] All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
[4] For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
[5] But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
[6] And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
[7] And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

If they are in a position of power over you and are are not allowed to not let them reign over you, then do as they say but not do as they do. (Mt 23:3)
