Being a prophet
Being a prophet
Being a prophet doesn't mean that I am special or that everything I say is true.
Why this lynching and hysterical attacks on people who claim to be prophets.
Its true in the bible that the false prophets who claim to speak in the name of God and God did not send them, there is a punishment on them, even stoning to death I believe. But we are living in the new testament era now.
(Deuteronomy 18:20 [KJV]) But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
Also I believe that there is a reason why prophets are lynched and attacked.
(Acts 7:52 [KJV]) Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
I have even heard by an evangelist that prophets are preachers in the new testament era. Even though it says in the new testament that the spirit of the prophet agrees with the prophets.
(I Corinthians 14:32 [KJV]) And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
That must mean that the spirit of the prophets agrees with the old testament prophets and Jesus Christ.
The reason I claim to be a just a prophet is because it gives me peace of mind and understanding and I feel that I can see a future and a past and get peace of mind in my life when understanding that I am a prophet.
This doesn't mean that I don't make mistake or that I don't say things that aren't true. Like any human being out there.
But the prophets are a benefit to those that believe, not to those that dont believe, it says in the bible.
(I Corinthians 14:22 [KJV]) Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
This means that most people that you come in contact with will not like you.
I have been thinking about this. Is it wise to call yourself a prophet if most people, that is the lost, will hate you for it. After all the tongue is a fire from hell, no man can tame it.
(James 3:6-8 [KJV])
[6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
[7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
[8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
This made me for a while think that I should not call myself a prophet.
But eventually I realized that my old self has died. It is not alive anymore. I live in Christ and so I am a prophet.
(Colossians 3:3 [KJV]) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
