Expounding scripture

Spirit of cursing

What does the bible say about cursing others? Jesus has not come to destroy but to save.

(Luke 9:54-56 [KJV])
[54] And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
[55] But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
[56] For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Sermon on the mount

Matthew CHAP. V.
Christ beginneth his Sermon in the Mount: 3 declaring who are blessed, 13 who are the salt of the earth, 14 the light of the world, the citie on an hill, 15 the candle: 17 that he came to fulfill the Law: 21 what it is to kill, 27 to commit adulterie, 33 to sweare: 38 Exhorteth to suffer wrong, 44 to loue euen our enemies, 38 and to labour after perfectnesse.

38 ¶ Yee haue heard that it hath beene said, An eie for an eie, and a tooth for a tooth.
39 But I say vnto you, that yee resist not euill: but whosoeuer shall smite thee on thy right cheeke, turne to him the other also.39
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coate, let him haue thy cloake also.
41 And whosoeuer shall compell thee to goe a mile, goe with him twaine.
42 Giue to him that asketh thee: and from him that would borrow of thee, turne not thou away.
43 ¶ Yee haue heard, that it hath beene said, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour, and hate thine enemie:
44 But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies, blesse them that curse you, doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully vse you, and persecute you:
45 That yee may be the children of your father which is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to rise on the euill and on the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and on the vniust.
46 For if yee loue them which loue you, what reward haue yee? Doe not euen the Publicanes the same?
47 And if yee salute your brethren only, what do you more then others? Doe not euen the Publicanes so?
48 Be yee therefore perfect, euen as your father, which is in heauen, is perfect.

So we should bless them that curse us and pray for them that persecute us. Jesus is always right so this is true. But Paul teaches us to depart from the enemies of the truth in 2 Timothy 3.

So that is how we sort out things. We depart from them. Church doctrine wont teach this though because for them it would split up the church.

The problem I have seen in church is a mask of friendliness, like a love kill mentality. Basically they are nice and friends outwardly but then some of them at least plot how to destroy you secretly and flatter you and then try to snare you.

be honest to God

(Psalms 62:4 [KJV]) They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

So we shouldnt bless with our mouths and curse inwardly.

(Proverbs 12:22 [KJV]) Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

Also if you bless with your mouth in prayer to God the Father regarding your enemies and then feel in your heart that you hate them and want to curse them. Are you then honest to God the Father in heaven. Lying to God the Father is abomination.

Paul

We also have Pauls prayer:

(II Timothy 4:14 [KJV]) Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

David

And David who had a heart like God:

(I Samuel 13:14 [KJV]) But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

also asked God to curse his enemies:

(Psalms 109:5-20 [KJV])
[5] And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
[6] Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
[7] When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
[8] Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
[9] Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
[10] Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
[11] Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
[12] Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
[13] Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
[14] Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
[15] Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
[16] Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
[17] As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
[18] As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
[19] Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
[20] Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
(Psalms 69:22-28 [KJV])
[22] Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
[23] Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
[24] Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
[25] Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
[26] For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
[27] Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
[28] Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Abraham

And we have the promise to Abraham and his seed:

(Genesis 12:3 [KJV]) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

So if someone tries to curse a born again believer in the lord Jesus Christ then God will curse the person that tried to curse the born again believer.

We should still not curse others but we could ask God the Father to curse them for us.

Law of the land

Do not curse people to their face. Rather separate and if they continue to try to do evil to you then ask God to curse them in prayer in your closet when you are alone.

(James 3:10 [KJV]) Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

We shouldn't curse others, but we could ask God to curse them.

(Luke 18:7-8 [KJV])
[7] And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
[8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Casting out unclean spirits

Instead of asking God to curse someone you could cast out the unclean spirits from them. Casting out unclean spirits from someone never harms any person. At least not if you do it from a distance without them knowing it.
