What is the the Apocrypha in the AV1611.
I think that the apocrypha is not inspired. That it is not part of the word of god. That it is not part of the holy scriptures. That it is the writings of mere men.
(Malachi 4:5-6 [KJV])
[5] Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
[6] And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
We see that the next thing that is going to happen at the end of the old testament is that Elijah shall come. This indicates that the prophetic writings after Malachi is Matthew. In other words the Apocrypha is not part of the inspired word of God, it is not part of the prophetic writings.
(Matthew 17:11-12 [KJV])
[11] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
[12] But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
Jesus tells us that John the baptist is Elias so we can see here how the prophecy in Malachi is connected to the book of Matthew.
