Pious

Intro

Being Pious or piety is not something bad (1Tim5:4), (being a hypocrite is something bad). The problem with the modern versions is that they have replaced godly with pious.

The power of godliness is the cross of Christ so it is not piety.

Comparing YLT with KJV we see that pious in YLT is translated into godly or saint in KJV.

This makes the impression that salvation is by works, by repentance from sins.

But the power of godliness is the cross of Christ.

So only the KJV brings salvation.

KJV scripture

(I Timothy 5:4 [KJV]) But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Modern versions

Conclusion

But the power of god is not being pious, it is the cross of Christ.
