Intro

Now when pagers and two-way radios and other electronic devices have exploded in Lebanon[1] it is no longer safe some think to carry around a smart phone with a lithium battery in it.

But there is a solution.

There are those who remove the lithium battery and put in a charging cable and solder it to the contact to where the lithium battery was connected. Basically then the mobile phone will work as long as it is connected to the charger. If the charger is removed then the mobile phone turns off.

Why is this useful. Well today our dependence on the mobile phone is big. A lot of applications that we need for banking, buying things online etc are on our mobiles. Some of them might not be available on the desktop. A lot of applications are mobile only. Also verifying accounts and ownership online is often done by a mobile phone number. So many feel handicapped from not having a mobile phone. But how get a mobile phone that doesn't have a battery in it?

There is one way to sort this out. You can buy a cellular android tablet with sim card slot that you can make calls from[2] and then get the battery removed and replaced with a contact to a charger that will charge the place that the battery used to charge.

There are those that have done this[3].

If you search hard on internet you can find other examples of people who have done this though its hard to find.
