Dangers of the electric grid:
You are living in a alternate current electromagnetic field. Its not healthy.
The electric grid is centrally controlled and can be turned off by those in control of it.
In a crises scenario the grid might be down.
Living in the electric grid creates a false safety due to dependence on the grid.
If the grid goes down in a city a lot of people will be in trouble. Freezers and fridges fail both in homes and food stores. At that point you don't want to be where everyone else is. You want to be out of harms way. It might be wise in that situation to be far from that town, off grid.
